The Meet and Greet
What is the Meet and Greet?
Our Meet and Greet is outlined as a temperament evaluation day to ensure your pup is a good fit for our pack.
The Meet and Greet is outlined as one full day of daycare offered at a discounted rate of $15.00 per dog.
During your pups evaluation Meet and Greet, our Staff is trained to assess your dog's compatibility with our pack, and to choose which playgroups would best fit with your dog's temperament and play style.
We typically introduce your dog to the play yard alone so they have a chance to familiarize themselves with the space and all the new smells. After a few minutes, our team slowly introduces carefully chosen dogs one by one while assessing your dog's body language and energy to ensure everyone is comfortable and happy.
On pick up, you will receive a report card for the day along with your dog's personalized hashtag information so you can follow their photos on Instagram!
Please note we are not an "all day play" facility and incorporate downtime into our regular daycare activities. See our Daycare page for more information.
It is important to understand that even a well-meaning and social dog can have bad play manners that can result in a misunderstanding, or even an altercation.
In defining whether a dog is social or not, many doggy daycare facilities put dogs into two categories: "aggressive" or "non-aggressive." Here at Social Pack Dogs, we take a more educated approach and prefer to define a dog's sociability by several key factors: breed traits, unique personality, play mannerisms, and the dog's understanding of pack social cues.
Though a dog may not be outright dog aggressive, they may have traits within these key factors that can make socialization in a daycare environment dangerous for either themselves or other pack mates. Because safety is our number one priority, your dog may not pass our Meet and Greet evaluation if they are displaying behaviors that we believe could lead to altercations during future visits - this does not necessarily mean that your dog is aggressive, but that a social group environment may not be the best fit for them.
If your dog does not pass our Meet and Greet evaluation for social daycare due to more minor issues like lack of manners, we may recommend you to one of our preferred trainers.
Unfortunately we cannot accept any non-social dogs for services at this time.
